NDORMS Research Fellow
Stephen did Biomedical Engineering at the University of Ulster followed by a PhD at Queen Mary, University of London After a stint at the Biomechanics and Biomaterials Laboratory at Lund University, Sweden, as a post-doctoral researcher, Stephen joined the University of Oxford.
Stephen is an NDORMS Research Fellow with the Oxford Orthopaedic Engineering Centre (OOEC). Along with Prof. David Murray and Prof. Hemant Pandit he carries out research on hip and knee joint mechanics. In particular, Stephen is interested in motion patterns, implant positioning, and implant design and their effects on implant survival.
In addition to his research interests, Stephen teaches biomechanics on the MSc in Musculoskeletal Sciences, is a tutor on the Preparing for Learning and Teaching at Oxford course and a Non-stipendiary Lecturer in Engineering Science at St. Edmund's Hall, Oxford.
