Working to strengthen medical research integrity and transparency
My work focuses on developing and evaluating prognostic models, reporting guidelines and systematic reviews. I am also involved in several initiatives to promote research integrity and transparency.
I teach subjects related to medical research planning, conduct, analysis and reporting in several MSc courses at the University of Oxford, as well as in a number of short courses offered by The EQUATOR Network and the Centre for Statistics in Medicine.
I graduated with a BSc in Nutrition from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 2003, followed by an MSc (2006) and a PhD (2010) at the same institution, both focused on Epidemiology with a strong component of Statistics.
My background as a researcher also includes collaborations with several universities and research centres, particularly analysing the data from large population-based epidemiological studies to investigate the determinants of chronic diseases.
If you want to get in touch for collaborations, supervision of students or delivery of talks and courses, please do not hesitate to reach out using any of the contacts on this page.
