CGAT Technical Director
Computational Genomics and NGS analysis
I joined the MRC Functional Genomics Unit in 2004, after which I have been involved in several genome projects performing comparative analyses. My background is in method development in sequence analysis. I did my PhD at the EBI in Cambridge with Liisa Holm working on protein sequence analysis, developing RADAR (repeat finding) and ADDA (domain detection), the current method behind the definition of PFAM-B protein domain families. I have been working with NGS data since 2009.
In 2010, I have taken up the role of Technical Director within the MRC CGAT programme, overseeing projects and training. Please see http://www.cgat.org for more information about CGAT.
