To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the first use of penicillin in Oxford, Professor Jeremy Farrar, the Director of the Wellcome Trust, gave the annual Norman Heatley Lecture in the beautifully restored Weston Library on Tuesday 1st November 2016.

Norman Heatley was a key member of the team who did the pioneering research on penicillin which turned it from an interesting microbiological observation into a life-saving miracle drug.
