Researcher wins award for glasses for blind people

A research in the Division of Clinical Neurology has won a major award for his intelligent glasses that can help blind people to 'see'.
Stephen Hicks, Research Fellow in Neuroscience and Visual Prosthetics, has invented a pair of intelligent glasses that can help blind people to 'see' using simple visual images and descriptions of nearby signs and objects. He has won the Brian Mercer Innovation prize of £50,000, organised by the Royal Society.
