Professor Daniel Freeman, Department of Psychiatry, was recently awarded an NIHR Research Professorship for his work in the area of persecutory delusions. The National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) award only four of these prestigious professorships each year, which are intended to “fund leaders in the early part of their careers to lead research, to promote effective translation of research and strengthen research leadership at the highest academic levels”.
During the professorship, Professor Freeman will evaluate his newly-developed psychological intervention for patients with persistent persecutory delusions in the context of severe mental health disorders.
