Oxford final year medical students have had outstanding success in the 2016 round of applications for foundation training posts. 100% of Oxford final year students gained places in the primary list allocation, and 41 students (26% of the year group) secured highly competitive Academic Foundation Posts. This is the highest number of academic foundation posts ever secured by Oxford final year students.

Tim Lancaster, Director of Clinical Studies, commented: ‘This is a fantastic achievement by our final year students. The high number of successful applications to Academic Foundation Posts is particularly pleasing, given the School’s mission to educate future clinical investigators. While Oxford students form less than 2% of the medical students in the country, 8% of academic foundation posts in the country will be occupied by Oxford graduates in 2016.’
