Oxford University Clinical Academic Graduate School (OUCAGS)
OUCAGS works in partnership with Health Education Thames Valley, the Local Education and Training Board (LETB), and local NHS Trusts to provide a range of career support to doctors in training who are interested in combining their clinical training with research.
The services offered by OUCAGS to a range of academic clinical trainees (such as Academic Foundation Doctors, Academic Clinical Fellows, those undertaking a PhD/DPhil, Clinical Lecturers and Clinical Research Fellows) include:
- Integrated academic and clinical training support
- Access to University resources
- Access to seminars and accredited research training
- Networking opportunities
- Support and information on funding opportunities and applications
We also work closely with the NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre, a University and Trust partnership funded by NIHR which seeks to support translational research and innovation with the aim of improving healthcare for patients. The partnership is underpinned by working groups established to develop strategic priorities, and OUCAGS contributes to the Research Education and Training Working Group to support the development of research capacity in the NHS by improving education and training opportunities for NIHR-funded researchers and research staff from a range of diverse professional groups.
