Tracking attendance at events using University card barcodes

Screen shot of MedSwipeMedSwipe is a web-based system that allows any Oxford user to track attendance at events using attendees’ University card barcodes.

Simply attach a barcode scanner to any computer with an internet connection and bring up the appropriate event on the MedSwipe website. Students simply pass their University cards in front of the barcode scanner - their picture is displayed to confirm that their attendance has been registered. Registration by Oxford single sign-on is also possible.

Those tracking attendance can define any number of events across multiple courses. An optional list of expected attendees can be created to highlight those who are missing. Attendance for an individual event, or for all events on a course, can be downloaded into Excel.

MedSwipe is currently used on the Medicine and Biomedical Sciences courses.
