A MSD Teaching Excellence Award has allowed us to purchase a set of 35 Windows tablets (with keyboards) to pilot mobile assessment & learning spaces

These allow us to set up a mobile IT suite in any space with a University network socket, or to add capacity to an existing space.

We’re piloting a number of activities:

  • Online assessment – to relieve pressure on existing spaces, permit assessments on the hospital sites
  • Polling/audience response – in seminars, practical classes and to augment students’ own devices in lecture theatres
  • Virtual microscopy - demonstrators will be able to show points of interest to small groups of students on virtual microscope slides
  • Objective Structured Clinical Examinations – recording and marking examinations

We are keen to hear from you if would like to take part in any of these pilot activities or have ideas of your own.

Equipment list

  • 35 x ASUS Transformer Book T100 running Windows 8.1, with detachable keyboards
  • 2 x Lapsafe Traveller cases
