Facilities Booking and Management

The Medical Sciences Teaching Centre (MSTC) and John Radcliffe Hospital sites offer a variety of meeting spaces and facilities available to staff, students and the general public.

We are responsible for managing teaching space, facilities and meeting rooms at the MSTC and John Radcliffe Hospital sites, including receiving and responding to requests for room bookings, and providing help and advice on the use of the facilities for teaching, meetings and conferences.

Medical Sciences Teaching Centre (MSTC)

Outside the MSTCSince its opening in October 2002, the Medical Sciences Teaching Centre (MSTC), sited at the rear of the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology close to the city centre, is quickly becoming one of the most sought after conference venues in Oxford.

The Teaching Centre houses a 216-seat lecture theatre which is fully equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and technical facilities, as well as a 7-metre wide screen. An overflow facility to a seminar room (accommodating an additional 50 people) has 2-way sound to the lecture theatre and allows the audience to view both the speaker and the presentation simultaneously.  The ground floor of the building has a large, open circulation area with magnificent views over the University Parks. This provides an excellent venue for posters and sponsor exhibitions, and for refreshments during the conference.

For seminars or smaller meetings, there are seven individual seminar rooms, each with projection facilities, which can be arranged to suit your specific requirements. A large computer suite and three multi-purpose teaching laboratories make up the remainder of this impressive five storey building and are also available for hire during the vacation periods.

Academic Centre, John Radcliffe Hospital

Facilities in the Academic Centre, on the John Radcliffe Hospital site include two lecture theatres, two classrooms, a conference room, Tingewick Hall (a large multi-use space) and two large foyers (the Tingewick Foyer on the ground floor and the Entrance Foyer 3 one level up). The primary function is to accommodate teaching and exams during term time. It can also be used for meetings, research lectures, seminars, conferences as well as for private functions. Please read the Booking Conditions. Hiring charges may apply.
