By mail merging email you can create individual emails for bulk recipients rather than sending the same email to all recipients.

Note: If you are going to mail merge email disconnect from the server by working offline first. If you don't do this you won't be able to check that the merge has worked correctly before sending, as the emails will be sent as they are created.

Switch off online working

  1. Click the Send/Receive tab.
  2. Click Work Offline.

You will see:

  1. That the Outlook icon has a cross next to it.
  2. A message at the bottom of the screen letting you know you are working offline.

Check your emails

Check that your emails have merged as expected. Your emails will be in your Outbox.

Stop working offline

When you are ready to send your email click the Work Offline icon to reconnect to the mail server. Your emails will start to send.
