Elinor Smith

Graduate School Support Officer

I am responsible for supervising the day-to-day work of the three Graduate School Assistants and resolving any problems that arise in relation to graduate studies administration. I also create regular reports relating to upcoming student milestones and then, with the help of the Graduate School Assistants, liaise with departments within the division about these milestones.

I provide support for the Graduate School Officer in the administration of the annual Graduate School Studentship Competition (in particular the Clarendon funding allocation elements), the planning and organisation of events (for example the Graduate School’s annual welcome and induction event) and the maintenance of online resources for the Graduate School as a whole.

Finally, I provide a secondary line of support for resources and activities relating to the Medical Research Council Doctoral Training Partnership.

I moved to the Graduate School after three years in the Nuffield Department of Population Health, where I spent 6 months as Administrative Assistant for the MSc in Global Health Science followed by two and half years as Administrative Officer for the DPhil in Population Health.
