Two new University units are officially live:

  • The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) will support all those who teach at the University of Oxford and promote a range of teaching practices that are relevant to Oxford's unique learning environment.
  • People and Organisational Development (POD) will design, advise on and deliver personal development workshops, programmes and coaching and mentoring schemes for all staff groups, and a range of practical support for leaders and managers.

The new units were created from existing teams in the Oxford Learning Institute (OLI) and Academic IT, reflecting our determination to strengthen and build on our support for academic teaching and learning, and to put a greater focus on professional development.

As a result of the changes, the OLI and Academic IT names will no longer be used, but their services will continue through POD and the CTL.  IT is hoped that both units will make a real difference in their respective areas – working in a more co-ordinated way with teams across the University in pursuit of a core mission.
