The Division is seeking to fill several open roles on the new MSD Equality Diversity and Inclusion Steering Group. These are:

-          Steering Group Chair

-          Academic or research staff representatives (2)

-          Professional and Support staff representatives (2)

-          Undergraduate student representative

-          Postgraduate student representative

The student roles can be held by two students sharing responsibility.

10 December update: Please note, all roles aside from Chair are no longer accepting expressions of interest.

The MSD EDI Steering Group is a newly form cross-divisional group who will be responsible for setting our divisional equality priorities, influencing policies and setting equality objectives at a strategic level to support a range of underrepresented groups across the staff and student body.

The roles are open to existing staff and students holding relevant posts at Oxford who have an interest in equality, diversity and inclusion.  This new Steering Group will report directly to the divisional Board. We are looking for progressive community-minded members who are keen to drive progress and to support staff and students from underrepresented groups to thrive in our division. The Chair will also represent the Division on the University’s EDI Panel, so we are looking for someone who enjoys and is confident being part of a two way feedback process – both representing the Division’s view in central decision making policy and also feeding back to the Division to ensure appropriate action can be taken.

The committee usually meets once a term. Steering Group staff members serve a 3 year term with a review of the steering group itself after year 2. Student members will be reviewed annually.

For further information about the EDI Steering Group, including the Full Terms of Reference, please see the MSD Equality Diversity and Inclusion Steering Group webpage.

To apply simply fill in the Expression of Interest and return by email to athena-swan@medsci.ox.ac.uk by Friday 4 December.

If you would like to discuss this opportunity further, please contact Katherine Corr (MSD Athena SWAN Facilitator).
