If you are using an unencrypted USB stick to move data around, particularly if it's carrying personal data (as defined by DPA 1998), you are putting yourself and our University at considerable risk.

In partnership with the University Information Security Governance, Risk and Compliance team, MSD IT Services is offering you a free hardware-encrypted USB stick in return for your unencrypted stick.

Email MSD IT Services or call them on (2)80030 to swap your unencrypted stick today.

If you haven't already, or if you completed it more than a year ago, don't forget to complete the all-new Information Security training module. It has some useful new material and comes highly recommended.

As University Staff you are required to complete the module every year.  We recommend you download your completion certificate and keep it somewhere safe so you can prove you have completed it in case of potential future Information Security problems.
