Apply now for the new, accredited teaching programme for University of Oxford staff.

The Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education is a University qualification open to all academic staff and postdoctoral researchers. It is a part-time, one-year course which has been designed to fit with academic workloads. The programme runs in two streams: one for the sciences, and one for the humanities and social sciences. The seven half-day workshops are all timetabled outside full term, and the programme workload can be tackled flexibly across the year.

The Oxford Learning Institute have designed the PGCert for academic staff who are mid-career and for postdoctoral researchers looking to consolidate existing teaching experience and gain a qualification which will be recognized in the academic job market. A key aspect of the programme is that it requires participants to look outside Oxford to how teaching is designed and delivered in other institutions, an activity which often encourages participants to look with fresh eyes at practices Oxford. The programme also requires participants to actively engage with consideration of what it means to teach inclusively, and how technologies may support teaching in their subject area.

Further details of the programme are available the Oxford Learning Institute website.
