Do you research policies, practices, organisations, and systems surrounding the dynamic field of healthcare? Are you looking for interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities? A new network of scholars may be right for you!
Oxford Global Health & Care Systems (OGHCS, formerly Oxford Global Health Systems) is a cross-departmental initiative within the University of Oxford aimed at promoting multi- and inter-disciplinary research to strengthen health and care systems, particularly those of low- and middle-income countries (LMIC). OGHCS was founded by Green Templeton fellow Mike English and was previously based within the Oxford Health Systems Collaboration group (OHSCAR), part of the Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health at the University of Oxford. The University has long been a world leader in global healthcare scholarship. Unfortunately, in the past, much of this work has been fragmented in various University departments and divisions. OGHCS seeks to bring scholars from various disciplines together to highlight the important health systems research already being conducted across the University's schools and departments. We hope this will promote new multi- and inter-disciplinary collaborations between Oxford, LMICs and other UK and international partners.
OGHCS was developed in 2018 and is now sponsored by Green Templeton College. As a place where people from all over the world come together to discuss major questions of public policy, professional practice, community, and cultural development, the College is a natural place to facilitate the initiative.
If you are interested in health and care systems around the world, you’re invited to visit the OGHCS website, where you can discover news about ongoing research in your field, find upcoming events to attend, learn more about the various disciplines and research groups contributing to health and care systems, and find collaboration opportunities with one of our scholars. If you would like to join the network’s mailing list or have your own profile on the website, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Together we can find lasting solutions that will improve health and care around the world.
