Medical Sciences Division (MSD) would like to increase the diversity of academic staff representation within divisional and University governance. In support of this goal, we plan to provide opportunities for staff to engage with MSD leadership and to represent the division on Committees of Council as open positions arise.

MSD is seeking an academic member of staff with innovation experience and with an interest in developing university-wide innovation strategy to participate in the Knowledge Exchange and Impact Sub-Committee (KEISC). KEISC is a sub-committee of the University Research & Innovation Committee, which reports to Council. MSD can appoint two representatives. MSD’s representative on the committee is currently Professor Matthew Wood, the second position is currently vacant. The committee meets in University Offices once per term for two hours per meeting. You will be supported in this role by the MSD attending officer.

The committee Terms of Reference describe its full responsibilities. These include strategic oversight and support for the implementation of the innovation and knowledge exchange related priorities from the university strategic plan. KEISC also coordinates the university response to the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) and are responsible for and the allocation and oversight of the Higher Education Innovation Funding stream from Research England.
