Horizon Europe is the next European framework programme for research funding (2021 – 2027). The UK will associate to Horizon Europe. This means that UK-based researchers will continue to be eligible to take part in EU-funded collaborative projects (including as lead institution), and to apply for ERC and Marie Skłodowska-Curie funding.

Horizon Europe was officially launched on Tuesday 2 February and the first ERC calls are due to open very soon. The Research Services European & International Team is running two workshops for prospective ERC applicants and their research support teams. The content presented at these two workshops will be the same and will cover both Starting and Consolidator Grants. Register for a workshop.

An introduction to Horizon Europe event was delivered for Oxford by Branwen Hide from UKRO (UKRI’s Brussels’ based office) on Friday 29 January. The presentations from the day are available on the Oxford Global Research website.  The introduction to Health Research in Horizon Europe will be of particular interest to MSD researchers. The first calls for the Health Cluster are expected later in the Spring.
