Professor Mona Bafadhel

The prize was established in 1988 in honour of Sir Graham Bull who was the first director of the Clinical Research Centre at Northwick Park and is awarded to young research workers who have made a major contribution to clinical science. On receiving the award, Professor Bafadhel commented:

‘The evening was truly wonderful and it was a privilege to be presented this in the 500th year anniversary of the Royal College of Physicians. It is an honour to receive on behalf of my patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, for women in the medical sciences and the Respiratory medical community.’

Professor Bafadhel has also been invited to deliver the Gaulstonian Lectureship, an annual lecture endowed in 1635 by Mrs Ellen Goulston in memory of her husband Dr Theodore Goulston FRCP. She will talk on the topic "Eosinophils in COPD: A breakthrough in patient management” in February next year.
