This course is for MRC DTP students nearing the end of their DPhil and getting ready for their viva.

COURSE AIMS

 

This 2.5 hours interactive online MSD Skills training course is most suitable for those MRC DTP students in their third or fourth year of their DPhil or final year of MSc by research.

This course will take place as an interactive online session, with free rein for students to ask questions throughout. Tutor(s) can 'red flag' problems that have occurred in the past, but they can also highlight what makes for an excellent candidate and successful viva. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions from an alumni who recently successfully defended their DPhil viva voce examination in Medical Sciences.

  • To assist students in preparation for the viva and the potential generic questions that could be asked by their examiners.
  • To provide the attendees with guidance as how to plan their theses.

Prerequisites

There are pre-course and post course materials available in My Resources in AccessPlanIT. You will need a good internet connection and uninterrupted time and a good hot drink!
