KC Park
DPhil student on the British Heart Foundation Cardiovascular Science Programme (2016-)
I am in my final year of the Cardiovascular Science DPhil BHF Studentship at Oxford. My project aims to identify the mechanisms underlying cardiac complications in propionic acidaemia, an inherited metabolic disease. In my second year, I received full funding from the BHF and my College to give a talk at the Society for the Study of Inborn Errors of Metabolism (SSIEM) Annual Conference in Athens. It was invaluable for me to meet IEM experts and to better understand the wider clinical picture of these diseases. In 2019, I was awarded the Poster Prize at the OXION Annual Symposium and a Poster Commendation at the Oxford BHF CRE Annual Symposium.
