Research across the OMH network covers a wide range of basic and translational activities aimed at tackling important research questions. The portfolio of research across OMH can be divided into 12 major themes, with each research group spanning several themes.

THEMES

Researchers use a wide range of tools and approaches to investigate these areas, from metabolic profiling to genetics to MRI. There is a strong translational focus, with groups actively participating in intervention studies, development of diagnostics and therapies, and clinical trials. The NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre, with themes in Diabetes & Metabolism, and Obesity, Diet & Lifestyle, as well as in other relevant areas, supports some of this clinical work.
