Work is underway on the new IMS-Tetsuya Nakamura Building, home to the new Institute of Developmental and Regenerative Medicine at Old Road Campus. This £35m centre, which is set to open in the summer of 2021, will bring together 220 leading researchers from Oxford and across the globe. Their collaboration will enable them to understand the cellular and molecular control of normal human development and to harness this knowledge for the design of novel therapies that correct birth defects and repair adult organs.

August 2020

The IDRM construction is being undertaken by McLaughlin and Harvey Building and Civil Engineers. Work started on site in February and construction is programmed for a period of 18 months.

Any works that could impact the Campus will be issued in advance, via the Building Managers.

January 2020

McLaughlin and Harvey Building and Civil Engineers will be undertaking the IDRM construction, they are programmed to start on site in February and construction is for a period of 18 months.

Due to constraints with vehicle turning space for construction the IDRM site boundary will extend behind as well as to the side of Boundary Brook House.

The fire exits for Boundary Brook House will be retained and the footpath directly out the back of the building will be diverted as indicated below in blue. There remains the pedestrian access as marked in green.

Information on vehicle routes will be issued in advance of the start on site and any significant works that could impact on the Campus will also be issued in advance.
