This shows you how to add or edit alt (alternative) text of an image which has already been uploaded to the website.

Image uploaded to the media section

This shows you how to add or edit alt (alternative) text of an image which has been uploaded to the media section of a webpage.

Click Edit on the toolbar at the top of the page.

  1. Click the Media tab.
  2. Click the image. This will open it in a new tab in your browser, where you can edit it.

Scroll down to the Alternative text field, where you can make changes / add text.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save.

 

Image in the image library

This shows you how to add or make changes to the alt text of an image in the website’s image library.

Select Images from the Choose action… drop down list to go to the website’s image library.

Search for your image.

Click the Quick Edit button to bring up a pop-up editor for the image.

Scroll to the Alternative text field. Make your changes and click Save.
