Guidance for particpants
Guidance for external participants: preparing your question
The theme chosen for the AIMday provides initial guidance for organisations to develop their questions, which can otherwise be general or specific, and relate to topics from fundamental research to technology needs. The questions will be visible to the full breadth of Oxford’s academic and clinical research community, as well as to other participating organisations, so they should be non-confidential.
The question will form the basis for an hour-long roundtable discussion, which will be led by the participating organisation. To ensure that you get the most out of this session, please be prepared to introduce your question and discuss it in some depth – you are welcome to use slides to present if necessary.
This unique approach ensures that each question will be addressed by a self-selected panel of experts, and organisations will have the opportunity to thoroughly explore their questions with researchers.
Guidance for researchers: preparing for an AIMday
In advance of an AIMday, researchers will have the opportunity to sign up to sessions based on the questions submitted by participating organisations. The questions will be visible to the full breadth of Oxford’s academic and clinical research community, so each question should end up with a self-selected panel of experts, who will participate in a one-hour roundtable discussion at the AIMday.
This meeting will be led by a representative from the company asking the question, and supported by a facilitator from the Business Partnerships Office. However, the aim is for researchers to engage with discussions as active participants, so please come prepared to discuss the question in depth.
