This course is scheduled once a year in Hilary term.

Course aim

The event aims to introduce the attendees to opportunities in the Medical Communications Industry. Researchers coming to the end of their DPhil and those considering a career outside the lab that will draw on their science background are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the networking opportunities at this event. Desirable criteria for those wishing to work in this field are:

- a doctorate in a bioscience subject, ideally post-doctoral research experience

- a genuine enthusiasm for science and its application to the world of medicine

- a flair for writing about science and medicine

- the ability to work independently within a small-team environment.

Course format

The event will open with talks from representatives from Medical Communications  agencies, followed by a networking opportunity with agency representatives.

 

Course content

Speakers at this event all work in the Medical Communications industry. They will provide an introduction to job roles in this area and hints on applying for jobs
