The Data Citation Index allows researchers to search for and access research data sets and data studies from a wide range of international data repositories in the sciences, social sciences, and arts and humanities. Data sets underpinning published research are linked with related journal articles, books, and conference proceedings. Records in the Data Citation Index link directly to data repositories for easy access to the deposited data sets. Citation counts for data sets are provided along with a suggested format for citing each data set in subsequent publications based on best-practice guidelines from DataCite.
